In November 2023, Parkhotel Mondschein welcomed Marie & Alexandre as artists in residence.
Marie Cornil is a French artist and designer who specialises in combining colour and local crafts. She enjoyed training at HEAD in Geneva and ECAL in Lausanne. Cornil has applied industrial techniques to craftsmanship to create new, imperfect results and blur the lines between art and design.
After being one of the finalists in the 2018 Design Parade 13 at Villa Noailles, she worked as a project assistant at Studio Bouroullec. She founded her own design studio called Atelier Mariger, which focuses on scenography, textiles and handmade objects. Cornil is known for her unconventional approach and the fusion of different artistic disciplines in her work.
Alexandre Willaume is a renowned designer who combines space, colour and material in his creative practice. His work, as the duo Marie et Alexandre with Marie Cornil, enjoys international recognition.
Marie et Alexandre, Alexandre Willaume's second duo, is dedicated to exploring and highlighting different crafts to open up new perspectives on everyday materials and objects.
