Artists in Residence: Francesco Vullo & Ben Cullen Williams

18. - 25. January 2026

In January 2026, Francesco Vullo and Ben Cullen Williams will come to Parkhotel Mondschein for an artist residency. The two artists participated in the Sicily Art Residency Program (SARP) in 2024 and exhibited their works in the SARP gallery spaces in Linguaglossa.

SARP is a place of artistic production, research, and experimentation located in the heart of the Etna National Park. It explores the transformations of the Etna landscape and their significance within the wider context of the Mediterranean region. Situated at a historic crossroads of European, African, and Middle Eastern cultures, SARP fosters intercultural dialogue and thoughtful engagement with themes of environment, identity, and community.

During their time at Parkhotel Mondschein, Francesco and Ben will explore and compare the landscapes of Mount Etna and the Dolomites from a multidisciplinary perspective. By examining their geological, cultural, and ecological differences, they aim to reveal how these distinct environments shape human experience, perception, and artistic interpretation. This comparative approach serves as the foundation for their shared research, exchange, and creative work.

On January 24, 2026, the two artists will conclude their residency with an artist talk, presenting their research and reflections on the Dolomite landscape and introducing their artistic project.
