Artists in Residence: Francesco Vullo & Ben Cullen Williams

In January 2026, Francesco Vullo and Ben Cullen Williams took part in an artist residency at Parkhotel Mondschein. From a multidisciplinary perspective, they compared the landscapes of Mount Etna and the Dolomites. By examining their geological, cultural, and ecological differences, they explored how these unique environments shape human experience, perception, and artistic interpretation. The residency concluded with an artist talk moderated by Alfio Puglisi, Director and Curator of the SARP Gallery in Sicily.

In 2024, both artists participated in the Sicily Art Residency Program (SARP) and presented their work in the SARP gallery spaces in Linguaglossa. SARP is a site of artistic production, research, and experimentation located in the heart of Mount Etna National Park, focusing on the transformations of the Etna landscape and its significance within the broader Mediterranean context. Situated at a historic crossroads of European, African, and Middle Eastern cultures, SARP fosters intercultural dialogue and encourages critical reflection on environment, identity, and community.
