Nicole Valenti, born and raised in Bolzano, is a designer and journalist whose career has been deeply shaped by art and design. After studying fine arts, she took on the chair for Decoration at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. In 2018, she founded the brand NIVA Design, a studio that collaborates closely with Italian master artisans to develop high-quality design products rooted in tradition and expertise. A focus on material research and processing techniques has earned NIVA Design the prestigious Eccellenza italiana award. NIVA’s design objects have been featured in numerous renowned publications, with their sculptural door handles receiving accolades in international competitions and being exhibited at the 58th Venice Biennale.

Since 2022, Nicole Valenti has been living and working in Marrakech, focusing primarily on the social project Zawya, supported by the Afrika Maroc association. Launched in 2021, Zawya aims to revitalize an underprivileged area of Marrakech's Medina and empower young people through education and integration in art, craftsmanship, and design. Students are encouraged to explore their creativity, reconnect with their artisanal heritage, and combine it with contemporary design, knowledge, innovation, and technology. The result is the establishment of specialized studios and workshops that produce, design, and market conceptually unique objects.
