Virginia Sommadossi, head of communication and visual identity department at Centrale Fies

The 9th Moontalk guest is Virginia Sommadossi, head of the communication and visual identity department at Centrale Fies, a research centre for performance practices. She combines her activity as creative director with that of lecturer in Communication for Culture for museums, universities and institutions: since 2018, she has been holding masterclasses and tutoring sessions on communication and inclusive languages in areas related to contemporary arts, for museums and at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan for the Master in Cultural Events.
Through the communication department of Centrale Fies, starting in 2021, she works as co-creative director for the visual identity and communication of the European network Apap-feminist Futures, entirely dedicated to Performing Art and horizontal organisational practices within institutions, also dealing with the re-design thinking of visual identity and horizontal communication processes. Her transversal approach to cultural phenomena and her interest in the connections between contemporary and performance art, design, cinema and fashion design led her to collaborate with fashion designer Barbara Bologna, for whom she developed communication strategies and content specifically designed to bring out and enhance the performative nature of her collections, getting her fashion collections featured in major art publications.
From 2017 to 2019 he supported the creation of Milano Mediterranea, a post-colonial aspiration public art centre based in Milan, coordinating the communication team from visual identity creation to content creation. Since 2017, she has been in charge of communication and visual identity at IUAV for the Master's Course in Theatre and Performing Arts.
On June 4th 2024 at 7 p.m. at the Parkhotel Mondschein, Virginia Sommadossi will explore - in dialogue with Anna Quinz, creative director of franzLAB - some themes dear to her work such as the use of inclusive languages in art and culture and communication in today's world.
The talk will be held in Italian.
