Cha-Do – the Way of Tea – is an invitation to step out of everyday life for a moment and return to what truly matters. Together with Taku Okamoto, co-founder of the Oboro tea house in Kyoto, we open a space for mindfulness, sensual awareness and quiet connection.
Over the course of three days, Taku offers five workshops that present tea not merely as a beverage, but as a way of living. Each session is designed to open the senses, clear the mind and cultivate a deep connection between human beings, nature and the present moment.

7:00 – 8:30 am: Yoga and Matcha – your morning ritual (with Taku & Ari)
Gentle movement awakens the body, while a bowl of matcha opens heart and mind. Taku and Ari guide you through a morning practice that is both energising and calming. During the ritual, Taku serves a selection of teas chosen to harmonise with the different phases of the yoga practice, as well as a perfectly prepared bowl of ceremonial matcha to ground you and set the tone for the day ahead.

10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Matcha & Sound (with Taku, Patrick & Ari)
A journey through sound and silence. With a cup of ceremonial matcha, Taku invites you to enter stillness and experience a deep sense of connection with yourself and your surroundings. Tea becomes a gateway to remembering the essential bond between human beings and nature. From this state of inner calm, a sound-healing journey with Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls and handpan leads into deep relaxation and supports the regeneration of the nervous system.
3:00 – 4:00 pm: Matcha Workshop – The Art of the Perfect Bowl (with Taku)
Beginning a matcha journey can feel overwhelming. What exactly is this green powder? Which utensils are truly necessary? This hands-on workshop removes uncertainty. Together, we explore what makes a genuinely good bowl of matcha, learn about the history of traditional tools and, most importantly, how to use and care for them. The aim is to gain confidence and joy in preparing matcha and to integrate it mindfully into everyday life.

10:00 – 11:00 am & 2:00 - 3:00 pm: Mindful Tea Ceremony (with Taku)
Tea as a ritual of reflection. Surrounded by the soft glow of candlelight and the subtle scent of incense, this ceremony invites you to slow down and focus fully on the act of being present. A welcoming tea grounds the senses, followed by traditional Japanese sweets to prepare the palate. Taku then guides participants through the meditative steps of the ceremony, using the Way of Tea as a path to mindfulness. A quiet moment to calm the mind, honour the connection between human and nature, and rediscover inner stillness.
Cha-Do is for anyone longing for slowness, depth and a more conscious experience of time. All sessions can be booked individually or as a complete experience. The classes will be held in english and no prior knowledge is required.
