In July - considered the Month of the Sheep in BaZi philosophy - we take time to slow down and become more aware of the natural rhythms of the season. This workshop focuses on working with sheep’s wool, traditional craft techniques, and the relationship between people, animals, and nature.
The workshop begins with a guided sensory meditation, creating space to reflect on natural materials and their origins. We then learn the basics of wet felting, working with regional sheep’s wool, water, and soap. Step by step, participants gain an understanding of wool’s unique properties and the handcrafted processes that transform this versatile natural material.
Set in the garden of Parkhotel Mondschein, the workshop combines mindful activity with practical craftsmanship. At the end, you will take home a handmade wool cloth as a reminder of the materials, techniques, and experiences shared throughout the afternoon.
The workshop will be held in Italian and English.

Merve Bektaş, born in Istanbul, is a transdisciplinary artist, designer, and independent researcher. Her work operates at the intersection of design, art, ecology, and culture, exploring the relationships between humans, other living beings, and materials. Her projects have been presented in artistic, design, and academic contexts across Turkey, Italy, Luxembourg, and Belgium. Among her current projects is WOLB Wool Lab, which she originally initiated at the Free University of Bolzano (iNEST) and now continues to develop independently.
