Guest of the 18th Moontalk at Parkhotel Mondschein is Andrea Lissoni, curator and Artistic Director of Haus der Kunst Munich. Prior to this role, he worked at Tate Modern in London - first as Curator of Film and International Art and later as Senior Curator - and at HangarBicocca in Milan as a curator. His curatorial vision is grounded in a transdisciplinary and transgenerational approach, fostering an ongoing dialogue between visual art, cinema, performance, sound, and music.
In 2022, Andrea Lissoni launched his transdisciplinary program at Haus der Kunst with Tune, a sound and music residency series. This was followed by a wide range of exhibitions and projects featuring international artists and collectives such as Fujiko Nakaya, Meredith Monk, Rebecca Horn, Pussy Riot, and Philippe Parreno, as well as major group exhibitions addressing themes including the environment, childhood, and experimental artistic practices. Some of his projects can be discovered in the collage below.
In an Italian-language conversation with Lisa Mazza, co-founder of BAU, an institute for contemporary art and ecology based in South Tyrol, Andrea Lissoni invites reflection on the role of contemporary curatorship and the evolving nature of cultural institutions today.
