The Water Element in Traditional Chinese Medicine

3. February 2024

The Water Element in Traditional Chinese Medicine

During the workshop, Shiatsu teacher Alessandro Ricciardi will explain the function of the Water Movement in Traditional Chinese Medicine, where it fits in the theory of the 5 movements, what interactions it has with life and individual vitality, and the specific function of the two organs linked to Water: Kidneys and Bladder.

The element Water represents calm, tranquillity, rest par excellence, and it is in this tranquillity that the strength of humans and their organs resides. Water houses the basic energy defined as the "Vital Essence of Man", it represents the foundation of all the other elements, and their associated organs, and therefore these depend on its energetic condition.

This will be followed by a practical part in which Alessandro will guide us through some exercises to balance the Kidney and Bladder meridians.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes.

Teaching Language: Italian
