Traditional Chinese Medicine and Auto-Shiatsu

18. November 2023

Element Metal: The breath that helps

During the workshop, Shiatsu teacher Alessandro Ricciardi will explain the function of the Metal Movement in Traditional Chinese Medicine, where it fits into the theory of the 5 movements, what interactions it has with life and individual vitality, and the specific function of the two organs related to Metal: Lung and Large Intestine.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, metal is linked to the season from full autumn to the onset of winter. This period marks the transition from light to dark, from warm to cold. This workshop will provide you with the necessary tools and knowledge to stay in balance during this season.

This will be followed by a practical part in which Alessandro will guide us through some exercises to balance the Lung and Large Intestine meridians:

  • Sequence of a Do-In (to warm up and activate the muscle strips)

  • Stretching the Main Meridian of the Lung

  • Stretching of the Main Meridian of the Large Intestine ( Large Intestine )

  • Self-treatment sequences of the above Meridians

  • Sequence of self-treatment of the Large Intestine ( useful for encouraging and facilitating intestinal transit ).

  • Introduction to the practice of prone walking with work in pairs.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes.

Teaching language: Italian
